Demonstration and Description

  • Coach guides the athlete to hold the bat in a relaxed, neutral way.
  • Athlete explores gripping the full handle, half handle, and a modified grip.
  • Coach invites the athlete to describe how each grip feels (pressure, comfort, control).
  • Athlete selects the grip that feels most natural and repeats holding it several times to build familiarity.

Coaching Points

Technical

  • Fingers wrap comfortably around the handle
  • Wrist remains mobile

Tactical

  • Grip should allow quick adjustments for different shot types

Physical
