About Bury Aces

Bury Aces started as an idea by Kara Goldfinch who fell in love with the sport but struggled to find a place to get involved anywhere in Greater Manchester. Working in partnership with Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People Bury Aces has become a reality.

We are a sports club for blind and visually impaired people offering Showdown and welcome people of all abilities. Although Showdown was originally designed for the blind we welcome everyone to play whether you have sight or not.

First time players are sure to fall in love with this sport.

The aims of Bury Aces is to:

  • Provide the opportunity and access to sporting activity to the community
  • Provide the opportunity for recreational involvement to help build social networks
  • Offer coaching and development opportunities within the sport and provide opportunity to competitively compete
  • Provide the opportunity and access to physical activity to support the overall health and wellbeing of those who take part
  • To promote the sport of Showdown and its continued development
  • Support and promote the work of Bury society for blind and visually impaired people.
